Future Self

Last week, we talked about creating a vision for our lives. If you didn’t go through my Feeling Grounded breathing exercise, I recommend checking it out first then coming back here to continue the journey.

What incredible life do you imagine for yourself in 10 years?

When I’m 99, I want to look back on my life and feel like I had the most incredible adventures. I want to know that I lived and loved with everything I have inside of me. I want to feel that I used every magical drop of life, and I wish this for you too.

You can ask yourself so many questions. What do you want to be doing? What do you want to be wearing? Where do I want to live? Who do I want to be spending time with? How do I want to feel in my body? What do I want my energy to feel like? How do I want to be feeling? What do I want my spiritual practice to be? What is my relationship like with myself?

When we become crystal clear about what are future self looks like, only then can we step into that life. I invite you to imagine your future self has teleported into your current life and is talking to you. She’s giving you feedback about your current life and giving you tips to get to your future life.

This is your chance to align your arrow with your future. You have to know where you’re aiming before you pull back that arrow and go for it!

What is your 2030 self telling you? Let me know in the comments!

Ok, let’s take a small step back to now. What are some things you can do in 2020 to get to your future self in 2030? Write them down in a “Day of the Life” for yourself.

Tony Robbins says that we overestimate what we can do in one year while also underestimating what we can do in 10 years. When I look at my own life, I am shocked at how much I have accomplished.

Ten years ago…

  • starting my master’s degree

  • Newly married

  • Living in a tiny apartment

  • SO much debt

  • No clients and no business

  • No idea where we were going

  • Struggling with not knowing who I was

To now…

  • Two beautiful kids

  • Happily married

  • Living in a beautiful home

  • Spiritual practice that suits me

  • Finally aligned!

When I focus on ten-year chunks, I realize how much has happened in my life and really see that transformation.

Spend some time understanding your vivid dream and what you can achieve ten years from now. How can you orient yourself to reach that dream? Imagine what it would feel like to know you are living your absolute best life possible.

Ok, one more step to the future. Imagine your funeral. I know I want my kids to say that I was a free spirit who loved them. We were always doing fun activities, yet still had a sense of groundedness. What do you want your partner, friends, kids, and family to say about you?
