WHY RENEW ENERGY?

WHY RENEW ENERGY?

REFLECT

This month, we’re talking all about what it means to have a full cup. For me, I know my cup is full when there is a pep in my step and I have the ability to run my machine for the long haul?

When your car gets low on fuel, an indicator light comes on to tell you to fill up. If you fail to heed that warning, you’ll be stuck at the side of the highway in no time!

Our bodies, too, have warning signs when their fuel is running low.

When we’re overtired and depleted, we get cranky, sick or depressed. If we’re not eating well, we feel sluggish or nauseous.

Even though we know this, we don’t always notice the warning signs and do what’s needed to replenish our fuel stores.

Apart from extraordinary circumstances, it doesn’t benefit us to push ourselves more than necessary. Instead, we need a sustainable approach to caring for ourselves for the long haul. This is why we need to Renew Our Energy.

ENVISION

If you run a car hard and fast without taking care of it, the car will eventually break down.

You are the same way. For some people, that could look like burnout, a hospital visit, or even a mental breakdown.

This is not a place we want to end up or, frankly, have the luxury of ending up because – we’re moms. Our children are called our ‘dependents’ because they literally depend on us to function!

If you were given a car and told you had to make it last your whole lifetime, how well would you take care of that car?

The fact is: you’ve been given the machine of your body and mind, and it does need to last a lifetime!

It’s time to start fueling our tanks and caring for ourselves – physically, mentally, and spiritually – so we can have abundant strength to keep showing up to our lives.

TAKE ACTION

This month, we’re going to discuss all the ways you can REFUEL. You’re going to choose one of them and establish it as a mainstay in your life.

We each have our own ways of meeting our needs for nutrition, sleep, movement, and inspiration. But an overarching theme that applies to every one of us is boundaries.

You might be asking how you can possibly care for yourself when your kids need something from you every minute of the day.

The answer is setting boundaries and saying “no”.

This might look like saying “no” to one more book so you can go to bed or read a chapter of your own.

Our kids shouldn’t have to pay the price for our lack of self-discipline. Instead, take a radical, profound, unapologetic approach to caring for YOU.

Go forth and Renew Energy so you can live empowered!

What an eye-opening mentor conversation with Brenda Winkle 🧘‍♀️ She taught us all about the power of breathwork for better and easier parenting 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 I never realized how much our breathing can impact our parenting styles and techniques. The replay is now available and trust me, you don't want to miss it!
